Holding Out For a Hero, Book 3 Released Today!
My amazing friend Shelli Stevens has a release today. The third book in her Holding Out For a Hero series is about a firefighter and a woman who has been hiding a crush for a few years. Check it out! Hugs, Lacy. One taste of her lips, and friendship is off the menu Holding Out for a Hero, Book 3 Kate has always been everybody’s friend and the de-facto little sister to the Wyatt brothers. But her feelings for Todd Wyatt, the town’s hottest firefighter, run far beyond the sibling variety. Not that he’s ever noticed. After years of nursing her crush, Kate decides it’s time to take action. Except she has one awkward little secret: she’s still a virgin. She hopes she can seduce Todd without him realizing just how inexperienced she is. In Todd’s mind, Kate’s the sweet girl he teases and hits up for free cupcakes. One surprise kiss over the summer, though, and suddenly she’s jumped from the platonic side of his brain to the want-her-in-my-bed side. Even though the last thing he wants is to lose her friendship, his resistance to her determined seduction is slipping. Fast. When malicious attacks on her bakery escalate, it soon becomes clear that for all Kate’s friends, she’s made at least one big enemy. And if they don’t figure it out soon, things could take a deadly turn. Order at SamhainOrder at AmazonOrder at Barnes and NobleReviews “Ms. Stevens takes a couple who has been friends their whole lives, adds a bit of spice and turns it into a grab a fan and ice water because this one is a HOT story. She also adds just the right amount of suspense combined with a knock out romance and made this the kind of book that I will read again and again.” Fallen Angel Reviews, Recommended Read “I would definitely recommend to any fan of contemporary romance.” Whipped Cream Reviews “Flash Point is a delightful story centering around Kate who is a great friend and Todd who is slowly realizing that she maybe more.” Sensual Reads EXCERPT Silence fell between them, heavy and awkward, and the longer she kept quiet, the more she just wanted to scream. She could barely deal with Todd talking to her about the women in his life, seeing them was bad enough, but having to help him with it? Todd seemed to sense her mood change, because any further attempts at conversation stayed firmly away from the topic of women and dating. When the check arrived, he handled it despite her insisting that she pay half. The entire ride home, the hot ball of anger in her belly just kept expanding, until her vision was tinted with red and her hands were clenched into fists. When they pulled up outside her house, she didn’t trust herself to say anything more than a terse, “Goodnight.” She climbed out of the truck, slamming the door behind her as she strode toward her front door. She’d just blown any pretense of playing it cool, but so what? She heard the truck door slam again, and she flinched, increasing her pace. Todd’s fingers curled around her elbow, spinning her around and off balance. She reached out to catch herself, just like she’d done earlier today with Walt. Only this time, there was no urge to pull away when her palms flattened against Todd’s hard, broad chest. But the fact that she was pissed, not just angry, downright pissed at Todd, had her jerking away regardless. Todd didn’t let her go though, instead slid his hands up her arm to pull her closer to him. Her heart lurched in her chest and her mouth went dry. “I’m sorry,” he muttered. She lifted her gaze to his and from the light of her porch saw the regret in his eyes. “There isn’t a woman I’m trying to impress with baking. I made that up.” Kate frowned, stilling in her efforts to free herself. “Why did you say that then?” “Damn it, to keep this from happening.” His head blocked out the light as it dipped, and then his mouth crashed down on hers. Shock ripped through her as his lips masterfully parted hers, his tongue plunging inside to taste her. She couldn’t move, couldn’t even respond for a moment. Until the tingling began and a liquid heat seeped through her veins, pooling heavily between her thighs. She was in Todd’s arms and he was kissing the hell out of her? How long had she fantasized about this? Labels: Shelli Stevens

Erotic Author Shelli Stevens Has A New Release! Bad Girls Do.
My good friend Shelli Stevens recently released a new, naughty, short story. I was lucky enough to read this before its release, and it is a great erotic read. I think you will enjoy it! Below is the blurb, and a short excerpt. Enjoy, Lacy! Bernadette has been kicked around one too many times in life. And when her politician-aspiring ex ditches her for some rags to riches girl, she sets out for revenge. One last screw to prove she can bring Winston to his knees and make him beg for her back. But when she arrives at Winston’s penthouse, he’s got company in the form of a very sexy Pro Quarterback named Matt. Things start heating up and her party for two is starting to look like a party for three. As the night progresses, it just shows lust and sex can make it anybody’s game. EXCERPT I always knew Patty Lourella had Grade-A bitch tendencies, but it wasn’t until a week ago that I realized she was a man-stealing whore. Sure, she’s got a great reputation and everyone thinks she’s sweet as pie, but I’m here to tell everyone that’s all smoke and mirrors. She’s stacked like a brick house and willing to open her doors to anyone with the right knock. Delving through my makeup bag, I pulled out my I-can-suck-cock-like-nobody’s-business shade of red lipstick and carefully applied it to my full pout. Today, Patty was going to get a taste of her own medicine, and so was her new man—my now ex-boyfriend—Winston Charling. After smacking my lips together, I ran my tongue over my pearly white teeth to make sure I hadn’t smudged lipstick there. My breasts bounced in the demi bra, nipples scraping against the purple lace and tightening into hard little points as I strode to my closet. The string of my thong slid deeper into the folds between my legs, teasing the moisture that had already gathered. Oh, yes, I was horny. Not just horny, fucking horny. I’d been planning this for days now. This little screw fest. It was my big fuck you and adios to Patty and Winston. My vibrator was in hibernation and my body completely off limits to pleasure. I wanted to explode the minute he touched me. And yes, I get that some people might think I’m nuts for wanting to sleep one last time with the man who’d cheated and then dumped me for some socialite wannabe. I won’t stand here and proclaim to be a Timid Tammy who blushes at the idea of sex, nor am I necessarily the nice girl. I love sex and am not afraid to ask for—or take—what I want. Bottom line? I’m just not your average woman. And Winston wasn’t your average man. The guy has a cock that could make a porn star jealous, and a tongue that could inspire a romance novel. Flinging open my closet, I scanned the contents and gave a sad cluck of my tongue. I had plenty to wear, but the one thing I wanted was gone. You see, Patty stole more than just my man. She also stole my Roberto Cavalli pumps. Frankly, it was a toss up on which was more irritating. But I’d get them back. The pumps. I didn’t want Winston back. That boat had sailed. I just wanted a farewell fuck. I just wanted to give him one last memory of exactly what he’d given up. It just didn’t make sense to me. Being the son of a senator, Winston could’ve had any woman he wanted. And for two years, I seemed to be the chick in the running. He’d let me believe I was that woman. But the one thing I’d learned about Winston during our time together that he was a master manipulator. I’m a little embarrassed to admit it took me getting dumped by him for me to realize I was just another one of his victims. I should have been the perfect match for Winston. I had loads of money, mingled in all the right circles, and—to be honest—had sexual skills matching that of any high-class whore. But no, he’d up and left me for some white-trash bimbo from Brooklyn who spent her days scrubbing toilets at the Marriot. I can’t really blame Patty for wanting to move up the money food chain, but using our friendship—yes, we used to be friends—to achieve her new status was just downright shoddy. With a sigh, I settled on the Manolo Blahnik stilettos that I knew would make Winston just about come in his pants. He loved me in Manolos. Or I should say, he loved fucking me in Manolos, because obviously loving me was never part of the equation. With a grim smile, I slipped on a tiny sundress that showed off all my curvy bits. Tonight, sweet revenge would be mine. And hell yes was I going to enjoy it. ~~~~ If you want more, click here.Labels: Bad Girls Do, Cobblestone Press, Erotic shorts, Shelli Stevens

Four Play From Erotic Romance Author Shelli Stevens!
Looking for an erotic short story? Check out Four Play from Author Shelli Stevens. Four Play. Yumm. Sit back cuddle up and enjoy a little steam. Maybe even play FourPlayJazz to increase the indulgence. If you are looking for naughty I am sure you will enjoy. Hugs, Lacy. ~~~~~~ Who knew the future could be this hot? One woman has to choose one of her three best friends to become her lifemate...or maybe she doesn't have to choose.... Duty required she choose one life mate. Her heart wants all three. Mikayla knew this day was coming. News has come down from the planetary elders—now that she’s twenty-five, the law requires she pick her lifemate. She may be the planetary secretary, but when it comes to trying out potential mates, she’s inexperienced and nervous. She only needs one man with whom she can trust her life. Luckily she knows three—all friends since childhood. Even if they’re not thrilled to be her potential lifemate, it’s the only way she can get through this process. Mikayla couldn’t be more wrong about Cedric, Kyle, and Brett. They’re eager, yet resentful about the situation. Each one would kill to claim her, but they’re not too happy about having to risk their friendship to win her love. Yet, one by one, they set out to do just that. Mikayla is stunned to learn all three men drive her mad with desire—and make her feel cherished. Loved. Choosing one seems impossible, until the one man she doesn’t want forces her hand… Warning: This book contains one female being thoroughly tempted by three very different males—sometimes at the same time! It contains m/m and m/m/m/f scenes, rough lovin’, gentle lovin’, and all of the above lovin’. “That dress looks lovely on you,” Kyle murmured. She flushed, even knowing he had always been skilled with flattery. “Thank you.” “You’re welcome. It makes you look taller.” Mikayla threw back her head and laughed, a habit she was well used to when spending time with Kyle. “You lie. I’m petite at best.” “Yes, you are, and always have been. It’s no wonder we always had difficulty finding you during our hiding games as a child.” “Gods, stop it!” she laughed harder and slapped his leg lightly. “You make fun.” “I wouldn’t dream of it.” Kyle grinned and sank down next to her, then leaned back on his elbows, crossing one leg over another. The action drew his shirt taut over his abdomen, highlighting the muscles beneath. A flutter occurred low in her belly and she bit her lip, shifting her gaze away. What was the matter with her? He was fully clothed and this was hardly the first occasion she’d spent time with him alone. “Mikayla,” Kyle said softly and caught her hand. “What made you choose us?” Her cheeks warmed and she shrugged. “Well, basically it was like I said. I suppose I hate the idea of making a strange man my lifemate. I know you three. I adore you and would trust each one of you with my life.” She lifted her gaze and searched his eyes. The unease hit again—was she forcing them into this? She whispered, “Am I being terribly selfish?” His blue gaze darkened, flickered with heat. “No, kitten. Not selfish at all. Though you’ve put us in one hell of a predicament.” “Have I? How so?” Her heart skipped and she ran her tongue across her mouth. Kyle’s gaze dropped to observe the movement. “Because all three of us would give our souls to possess you,” he said roughly and, with a light tug of his hand, pulled her so that she fell across his chest. He reclined fully onto the blanket and slid his hands up her waist. “To win your love.” Surprise rushed through her. Truly? They all wanted more than just friendship from her? Her pulse quickened and she wondered if she should feel guilty for acting so wantonly. But dear Gods it felt wonderful to lie across his hard body like this. Across Kyle. How strange… “All of you? But Brett didn’t seem happy in the least.” Kyle laughed. “He’s just infuriated that I was chosen to court you first. The man is more competitive than he likes to let on.” He slid his hand down to her ass, cupping her through the thin cotton. “But fortunately I am too, kitten. Do I have your permission to continue?” Continue. Oh Gods, she could not even begin to comprehend what that entailed, but she wanted it. Not trusting her voice, she gave a slight nod. Triumph flickered in his gaze as he slid one hand up to cradle the back of her head, pulling her mouth down to his. His mouth was entirely too skilled, coaxing her lips apart before his tongue slipped inside. She met his commanding touch, hesitantly flicking her tongue against his. Heat bloomed in her body as she let her weight rest fully on him. He threaded his fingers through her hair and tilted her head, deepening the kiss. Warmth slid through Mikayla’s body, gathering heavily between her legs. She squirmed against him, needing more than the kiss, but not sure how to ask for it. But Kyle seemed to know exactly what she needed, because he lifted one leg between her thighs so that she straddled him. His knee wedged against her pussy, sending all kinds of sparks of pleasure through her. She cried out and lifted her head, bracing her hands on either side of his body, rocking back and forth on his knee in search of that ultimate pleasure. “You need to slow down, kitten,” he murmured and slid his hands up her ribcage to cup her breasts. “This is just the beginning.” Oh Gods! Mikayla closed her eyes. If this was just the beginning of pleasure, then she was in a heap of trouble. Labels: Erotic Romance, Erotic shorts, Four Play, FourPlay, Shelli Stevens

Happy Friday evening everyone! Today started out cold and snowy here in Seattle, but by the end of the day it was sunny and warming. My kids have been on spring break all this week, and because of the icky weather I decided to take them and get out of the house. We are on a short trip, a stay in a hotel for a night, go to dinner out, and then go for a hike tomorrow morning. Tomorrow we may also hook up with my friend Shelli Stevens and her daughter. On that note... Shelli has a new short story out that is so HOT you have to read it! Heres the deal. When there’s a tiger—and a lion—on your tail, there’s no escape… Delilah is strong, independent—and a princess on the run. Her father, King of the Falcon kingdom, wants to unite her with Pierce, Prince of the Tiger kingdom, and Jason, Prince of the Lions. Never can she imagine giving herself to one man if there is no love—let alone two! So she flees her home in hopes of avoiding the union. Delilah may be dead-set against the plan, but Jason and Pierce have no doubts. She is the one they want to complete their triad, to be their mate. She alone has the power to form the bond that will, in turn, join all their kingdoms in peace. They’re prepared to use every means of pleasure to convince her they are all destined to be together. But first they have to catch her… Product Warnings: This book is hot! Hot! Hot! Threesomes, m/m, and capture fantasies, oh my! Available to purchase here.Go get it! You won't be disappointed! Fun was had by all that attended RWA in San Francisco this year. For me the conference took on a different feel than prior years. It was my very first Literacy signing which I have to say was a blast! I signed eleven books and had my photo taken by the RWA official photographer. My goal for the night was to sign one! You can imagine my delight to sign ten additional books. Unfortunately, copy edits for my next Kensington book arrived a few days before I left for conference, so I spent many hours each day up in my room rereading my February 09 book BEING WICKED. I did manage to get out of my room to attend a few classes and to go to my publisher's events in the evenings. I also had a wonderful talk with my agent Roberta Brown. She is such an amazing woman so full of life and energy. I spent over an hour talking with her about my career and what she feels will be my best bet for my next proposal. I met some of my old friends and made some new ones too... below are mixture of photos of me and the events I attended. Crystal Jordan and me. Crystal is a fellow Kensington author and one of my critique partners. Myself, Donna Grant, and Shelli Stevens at the PASIC party.
Lillian Feisty and Eden Bradley two of my fellow erotic authors and close friends.
Kemble Scott, Celia May Hart, and myself at the Kensington cocktail party.
Kate Pearce, Shelli Stevens, and Crystal Jordan at the Kensington cocktail party.
Shelli and I at the Romance Diva dinner that just followed the Kensington cocktail party.
Shelli was my date for the Harlequin party, where the dancing was so much fun!

Cheers to all of you!

I have had a wonderful past week. Finally feel like I have enough sleep to actually function. Started to dream again... silly I know, but to wake up and have my muse talking to me is such a wonderful thing. I am itching to start on a new writing project but keep telling myself hold on slow down other things need attention here. Things like the list I posted a few weeks back... which I am happy to say quite a few of them I have accomplished. The good things... Yesterday I fasted until dinner time. I had one cup of coffee in the AM and drank water all day I ended the night with a sensible dinner of chicken, corn and squash done on the grill. Next week Monday I will fast the entire day. Some Eastern religions do this... they believe fasting once a week gives the digestive system a break and keeps the metabolism high. I won't do this for very long... maybe every Monday this month then stop. Cut back my drinking to one drink a day. Woo hoo! I feel much better in doing this less sleepy the next day... more focused! I bought a new pair of running shoes... yesterday at lunch down town I walked not far but it was about 12 blocks total and that is a start back to exercising. Cut back my coffee intake to one cup a day... when I was writing I was up to 10 cups a day... TEN... can you believe it. sigh no more. My house is slowly returning to normal... little by little each day things get picked up and put away. I am finally reading again. This last weekend I sat on my porch in the sun with a special friend and read 100 pages in Never Lie To A Lady... Man I wish I could write wit like Liz Carlyle. Her books are amazing and filled to the brim with all those wonderful little details like a name brand for a Russian vodka back in the regency. I have been tempted to see if I can find that kind now! Oh and I got tan lines... grin. I attempted making my very first Vodka gimlet. turned out quite nice.... One sugar cube in a glass, three quarters of a lime squeezed onto the sugar cube one vodka glass full of vodka added to that. Lightly stir to dissolve sugar. Then pour entire concoction over ice and shake. Take remaining quarter of lime and place on rim of Martini glass. Pour and serve... yum. Beyond that I have watched movies... the French lieutenant’s woman, Blue Velvet, The Mission, Zodiac, the Terminal, and V for Vendetta. All excellent... I had not seen Blue Velvet in some time and was amazed by the D/s current through the movie. Funny how you see things differently, as you get older, and learn more about human behavior. Just over a week ago I went to see Kate Nash in concert with fellow author Lauren Dane we had a blast. This past saturday night I had drinks with some very special people at a piano bar. I guess you can say I am ALIVE and have started living life again. Lacy. PS. this week my very dear friend and CP Shelli Stevens and I are going to see CORTEO. This is in celebration of her very first NY sale to Kensington and her birthday. Labels: Kate Nash, Liz Carlyle, Movies, Shelli Stevens, Vodka Gimlets

Hey All, This is a quick note to let you know I am alive and recovering from my deadlines. I have a LONG list of things I put aside to complete things on time and I thought I would share these with you as well. LOL not that they are all that interesting or in a specific order. 1. Get hair cut and color. (Need to make appointment.) 2. Get waxed (Same… need appointment.) 3. Clean entire house! (That funny smell has to come from something.) 4. Throw away moldy cheese and food in refrigerator. (Maybe funny smell comes from old cheese?) 5. Find my sons stuffed mouse. 6. Find my green USB stick drive and back up all documents. 7. Read lots of books! On top of my list ( Finding meaning in the second half of life, Mine till midnight by Lisa Kleypas, Never Lie to a Lady by Liz Carlyle, Beauty and Submission by Maria Isabella Pita, Polish cooking.) 8. Return all the favors that I called in on the two stories I finished last week. 9. Lose the 10lbs I gained over the past three months of eating WAY too much chocolate and drinking too much red wine. (Two things i do when stressed and writing… switching to Martinis pronto! chocolate... hummm maybe that can stay in some form.) 10. Spend lots of time with my kids, family and friends.... Socializing and have some fun. 11. Wash car. 12. Clean out garage. 13. Start exercising again... including walks and maybe flamenco dancing! (is there a reason this task ended up on #13??) 14. Pay bills. Eek! Indeed I need to do this... have not been on top of this the last few months. 15. Relax and enjoy for an hour every day. Smiles… Do you think this is a plausible goal for a single mom with two jobs? On a really good note... I did two things this past weekend that made me smile. One. Went to my friend Shelli Stevens Cabin with my kids... we drank, laid around, the kids played and we went for a boat ride. Two. I planted flowers on my porch. I have wanted to do this since I moved in. The kids helped and it looks wonderful! I hope you are all doing well. Hugs and Kisses, Lacy. A great book set in Seattle WA.
My dear friend Shelli Stevens has a new book out this week. This book is set in Seattle WA and is book #2 in a series. Check it out! I loved reading this story... salsa dancing and cowboys... what more can you ask for! I know you will enjoy this steamy read, Lacy. http://samhainpublishing.com/romance/tempting-adamThe man she wants is the one she must deceive. Seattle Steam Book 2 Christy Wallace may be a respectable Seattle Spanish teacher, but she's got a sultry side. She lets it come out to play during the summer, when she moonlights as a Salsa dancing instructor. Sexy, cowboy Adam wants more time with her than just a fleeting cup of coffee, but she makes it clear that if he wants her, he'll have to sign up for dance class. Amazingly enough, he does. And Christy finds herself falling for a charming country hick with hands as fast as his feet. Adam's no hick, though. He's the owner of Adam's Apples, the fastest-growing cider business in eastern Washington. To his own surprise, one night with her has him thinking in terms of forever. That is, until he walks into a restaurant for a family lunch and finds Christy on the arm of his brother. Is there a logical explanation? Or is something rotten in Seattle? This New Year certainly has started out with a HUGE BANG. And I am not simply talking about the great new releases I am going to pimp below for my fellow friends and CP's. Grin. Since 12:01 am on the first day of the year I have been over run by emotions. Jealousy, hurt, anger, guilt, love, elation, fear and sadness. My goodness that certainly is a lot of emotions to filter through in one single day! Or should I make that LONG day. But I turned a corner today, and today.... today is a whistling day. You know one of those days when you wake up and you can't seem to stop your self from whistling whatever tune comes out... one of my more common tunes is the bridge over the river Quai (did I spell that wrong?) song. Do I sound a little crazy? ah maybe I am a touch. Grin. But hey a little craziness is good right? and I think that will be added to my 2008 goals... be a little more crazy each day. Later this week I will post my 2008 goals. Which include a variety of things some personal, some writing related. Interesting how my day job didn't seem to make the goal list in 08. (Said as I sit here at my day job and type this.) eek. First up, a book which I read and critiqued a while back from my CP and Very dear friend Shelli Stevens Dangerous Grounds. This story is the very first in a series set in Seattle WA that will be out from Samhain publishing. This is a Romance with a bit of steam (coffee and other kinds), as well as a bit of thrill... wink. Look at the guys bicepts on this cover... drool. I bet he could pick me up and fling me over his shoulder with ease! yum... lick lips... no make that lick bicept and maybe a little nibble too. Here is the blurb. Something's hot in Seattle, and it's not just the espresso.
Madison's needs are simple. All she wants are two things: Make Ooo La Lattà the newest trend in espresso, and seduce the sexiest cop in Seattle. But things aren't going exactly as planned.
First, Gabe's a little hung up on the fact that she's his best friend's little sister, and he's determined to keep his hands off. Second, her shop gets robbed by the increasingly violent Espresso Bandit, and now she's the only one who can identify him.
Gabe whisks her into hiding for her own protection, but soon finds his heart is under assault by the luscious and persistent Madison. But no matter where they hide, danger follows.
On such dangerous grounds, the trick will be to live long enough to keep the flame alive.~~~~~~~~~~ Book # 2 I am pimping today is from my other dear friend and Spice Brief Sister Eden Bradley. I miss you Eden! Her book Soul Strangers Came out from Harlequin on January 1st. Here is the blurb. She has come to Veracruz to heal. As the warm water of the Gulf envelops her, the ocean surges, swells, caresses her tender flesh. Suddenly he is standing there--a tanned, muscular stranger, beautiful and masculine, his smile brilliant and warm. She smiles back and he moves toward her. Soon, they touch, fondle, explore one another as the sensuous sea seduces them both. And as the sun descends, they discover new heights of passion and pleasure. Few words are spoken, no names are exchanged…yet for both of them, nothing will ever again be the same. You can read an excerpt here! www.EdenBradley.com ! Hi all this is a fun flirty read that takes a look at what can happen when you auction yourself off to the highest bidder... Yumm! Hugs Lacy. LOVE FOR SALE by Shelli Stevens. After her oversexed grandma talks her into signing up for the "Buy a Dame" fundraiser, Jessica Davis gets a makeover and goes on the auction block. She never expected the roughly sexy man who'd buy her, or the plans he had in store. Here is an Excerpt I pictured the man and how he'd looked at me in the hall. Not like I was the fat girl who got picked last, but like I was prime rib at the local steak house. The little flutters in my tummy started again. "Ladies," I turned and inclined my head regally. "I know this must seem awfully frightening to you. But if it raises money for the children, then I will honor the outcome of the auction." A few of the girls sighed and actually looked impressed. God they were easy. Anna just folded her arms across her perky tits and frowned. "Well, don't say we didn't warn you. If you come back with Chlamydia you have only yourself to blame." Jeez! Now she was flinging STD's at me? Like I was going to actually sleep with Mr. Tattoo? All of a sudden, I thought about his rigid biceps under my hands, the way his entire body had looked so hard, so muscular. What would he be like in bed? Would he be wild and dangerous, just like his image? The thought was unexpected and made the fluttering in my stomach turn hot and move down between my thighs. "Have fun, ladies." I shouldered my tote bag and left the room, my heels clicking on the linoleum floor. Mr. Tattoo waited for me near the Exit sign, watching me as I made my way down the hall. My bravado and excitement slipped a little with each step closer to him. Twenty-four hours. I would be with this man for twenty-four hours. "Jessica Davis." A slow smile spread across his face. "So you're gonna be my bitch for the weekend." My feet stumbled. He'd just called me his bitch. How the hell was I supposed to react to that? "Uh, I guess so. Although you might not wanna call me your bitch if you want to keep me on your good side." I took the last few steps that separated us. "I don't remember seeing you around the island. You're not local are you?" He raised an eyebrow and shook his head. "Technically I'm from Seattle." Ah, that made more sense. But what was he doing on Leaf Island? "My grandpa was Randal Thomas. He owned the Fisherman's Feast." My eyes widened and suddenly I wasn't looking at a grown man, but a sixteen year old boy who'd loved to attack me with squirt guns. Who'd made me shriek while chasing me with the fish he'd just caught. Who'd been my first kiss so many years ago. He nodded. "Ah, so you do remember me." It suddenly seemed hard to swallow. "Yeah, I do." Josh Thomas. Now I recognized him. It'd just been a little hard with the tattoos and goatee. Talk about a change! He used to spend his summers on the Island. Man, I hadn't seen him since the summer I turned sixteen. After he graduated high school and our little kiss was long forgotten. By then he moved on to Tina Schillings who" already slept with half the teenage boys in town. "I was sorry to hear about your grandpa, Josh." He shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans and offered a brief smile. "Yeah, me too. He was a good guy. I would have gotten down here earlier, soon after the funeral, but some things came up." Somebody passed us in the hall, bumping into me and sending me stumbling up against Josh. Once again, he reached out to steady me. "Thanks." I looked up and our gazes locked. I watched his pupils dilate, heard him inhale quickly. My stomach did a little flippy thing again, and I stepped away quickly. "Are you ready to go?" His voice had turned gruff. I nodded, and my new bangs fell into my eyes. I pushed them away. "All right." He gave a quick nod. "Follow me." Wanna see more? www.shellistevens.comLabels: Auction for a date, Shelli Stevens
