I was driving down the highway on my way back from a difficult counseling apt. If you have ever visited Seattle you know traffic here sucks, but I'm inching along and a big white pick up truck pulls up besides me. You know the kind, the type where you look out the window of your car and you can just barely see in the cab. It was a worker truck the bight red company sign sitting at my eye level.
Well the guy that was driving was rocking out to some song, I mean FULL rock out, head thrashing, sining at the top of his lungs ... LOL. Our eyes met and he laughed. I smiled. I wondered what he was listening to. It was not the song playing on my radio. He was cute, short brown hair and an amazing smile, but his zest in singing that song was what drew me. So as we inched along jockeying for position on I5, we continued to smile at each other whenever our windows would meet. When he was behind me, I would look in the rear view mirror and watch him sing to his song and visa versa. Slowly that bad counseling session slipped from my mind and I started feeling better. Started to sing to my own song playing on the radio.
What is it about car flirting? That entire encounter made my day. Sad I know. But when you have two kids and don't get out often sometimes that is the only flirting you get to do. So if you read this post, next time you are driving down the highway, make eye contact with someone. Smile, nod, even wink. You just might make a huge difference in someone's day.

Just wanted to say welcome to the blog world!
byOMG I'm terrified of car flirting. It happens, but I get all shy and blush. Wink? I wish!
byI so agree Stacy. As a mother you have to look for ways to remind yourself you are a woman. Your kids take over so much of your life, that at times all I see me as is a mom. Not that being a mom is bad, I wouldn't change it for the world... It is just I'm so much more.
byShelli... you should try it! Winking at a cute guy in the car next to you is very innocent and it feels so great! Just think you could make his day! :-)

Damn. When I was in school my girlfriends and I used to flash the guys in the other cars. I was so bad. So very very bad. But we laughed so hard our stomachs hurt for days.
byWinking is good now though...
