Today marks a new chapter in my life.

Yesterday my divorce was finalized. I was really surprised how easy the court hearing was. The judge just asked us each a series of question…

Is this marriage irreconcilably broken?

Does your parenting plan have your children’s best interest at heart?

Etc…

All yes or no questions.

He barely even looked at what we put in the document.
Just flipped through mainly to see if we signed everything.
I was relieved… I really just wanted it over with… but as I thought about it, marriage is legally binding. It was kind of disappointing that nothing more was said, especially around the parenting plan. I think I expected at least a lecture. LOL.

I don’t know.

Shrugs.

I did go through a bit of grief last night… not grief for the marriage ending or love lost or anything romantic like that, but sadness that it is now official I will only have my kids 50% of the time. I love my kids to death and I will always struggle with them not being with me. :-(

Today I will celebrate my new life…
I will go out to lunch with a friend, get hair ripped out of my body (waxed), and then go home and write.
